How to Look Expensive Without Overspending

Have you ever wanted to look expensive, but don't want to spend too much money? Finding affordable clothing without looking cheap can be hard. In today's world, especially with college students, it's important to keep a budget. Without breaking the bank, there is still a way to look expensive.

When your clothes are expensive it's easy to look expensive. But in all reality, most people can not afford some high-end brands. This is where effort and creativity come into action. When you do this, you will be able to stay within your budget. For me, I try to use my imagination to achieve a fashionable, yet affordable look. Try finding a character in a movie or Tv show that has a style you want to recreate. This will give you some inspiration. Here is a guide on how to create an expensive look without going broke.

1. Spend your money on timeless pieces.

Timeless pieces are items that will last a long time and stay in style. These are also things that you will be able to wear with most outfits. For example: belts, handbags, accessories/jewelry, or a vintage item. You will want to spend the most amount of money on these items. Next, some things you will want to spend a little less money on are a well-fitting pair of jeans, heels, and a blazer/jacket. Items like these are ones you will wear over and over again, so it's good to have at least one pair that you like. Lastly, you will want to save your money on items that you don't wear often or something that is just trendy at the moment.

2. Purchase expensive-looking fabrics.

When it comes to fabrics, you are probably going to need to get some dry cleaned. I understand that it's easy to just throw your clothes in the washer and dryer. However, if you want to look expensive, you are going to need to take a trip to the dry cleaners. Cotton clothing is a huge staple in anyone's closet, but you are going to need some more elegant items for a better look. Silk and cashmere are a must. These all will be worth the extra care they require.

3. Add the right accessories.

It's important to know the right accessories to pair with your look. You can also get inspiration with accessories while looking at different influencers or celebrities. This will help you get the right look, while not overdoing it. Make sure all accessories are in good shape and appear new. This will give off the appearance that they are more high-end. You wouldn't walk in the mud with your Valentino boots or have a tarnished necklace. So, treat your accessories like you would a luxury brand. Additionally, spend your money on accessories that are simple. These will go much better than something overloaded in a lot of print.

It definitely will take some effort to make yourself look expensive, but it's not impossible. I challenge each of you to get out there and shop with these suggestions to create a fashionable look that screams "expensive" but is inspired by creativity.
